Jo Hubris

Joanna writes Hubris and edits The Wellingtonista, but she’s in Auckland so often that she feels inclined to have her fingers in this pie too. Her day job involves managing web communities, after all. She thinks Auckland is a great place to visit, and her hobbies include drinking, eating and drinking.

José Barbosa

Has been living in Auckland since he realised he had to get a life. Enjoys milkshakes and that utterly disturbing thing with nipples outside The Tanuki Cave. Hang on. I’d better post about that.

Works at bFM.

Ryan Sproull

Ryan is occasionally the utterly disturbing thing with nipples outside The Tanuki Cave. He used to edit Craccum magazine, but now divides his time between being quoted in Ian Wishart books and riding around a little 50cc mini-chopper that just oozes heterosexuality. Also, he was Born on State Highway One, which makes him entirely above all of these territorial pissings.

Richard Irvine

Richard is a straight out sport nut with a potty mouth, but reckons his keen interest in the web, film, music, pub quizzes and stuffing his gob make him a well rounded individual. He’s flatted all over Auckland, but now lives accross the bridge on the big bad Shore.

Heather Gaye

Fights, codes, famous to her family. May one day revive her home site. Only put the link in because everyone else was doing it.

Danielle (dimsie)

Grew up on the Shore and now lives out west, making her doubly reviled by all right-thinking people. Spent some time flatting in Kingsland before realising that selling her kidneys for the rent money was probably short-sighted. Commutes to and from the Big Little City on Auckland’s wonderful public transport. Has an erratically updated blog.

Wallace Weasel

Has had nothing to do since Metro fired him after he underwent gender reassignment surgery. Is happy to be here to leak secrets and scandals.

Amanda Jackson (jamanda)

Amanda Jackson is a resident of Newmarket and can occasionally be seen in the Domain at 6am doing insane amounts of boot camp exercise. Amanda is one half of the experimental duo the grace jones and in her spare time works as a software developer and runs NZ Girl Geek Dinners. Amanda worked as a music journalist and photographer for a few years though this was mainly done to get backstage passes to gigs and music festivals all over Europe. Her band is touring the UK in 2009 and Radio 1 UK have requested a session but so far only 10 people in NZ have heard of them and friends & family probably don’t count. Amanda is also the voice of Princess Foo Foo of the Floons in the Nicolodeon cartoon The Adventures of Voopa The Goolash.

Bronwyn Bent

Is frequently found kneeling on the gyms of former psychiatric institutions, gluing pieces of fabric to other pieces of fabric. She wishes she could tell you why, but she’s sworn to secrecy. Really. When she’s not doing that, Bronwyn makes the things on and behind actors on stage look good. She also like bingo and school fairs. (But only the ones with homemade craft, old books and slightly wonky toys. None of that selling off school fair sites to corporates, thank you!)(Bronwyn also frequently goes off on tangential rants, can you tell? So far today, she has had one about the NZSO, and one about television news).

Nikki The Knitter

Is a recent addition to Auckland after a boy convinced her that the lovely land of Wellington was worth abandoning for him. She is now stuck out in South East Auckland for the most part but ventures into the City on a daily basis to do some feministy type work and find fun things about Auckland to write about. Nikki is a knitter, duh, so she frequents craft fairs and stalks crafty people. She also has a red headed devil child that tags alongside her so is on the lookout for awesomely kiddified stuff to do and see.

Ex-Aucklandistas

Robyn Gallagher

Robyn still likes Auckland, but was lured away by the charms of the capital and can now be found blogging at the Wellingtonista.
