The Aucklandista was formed at the start of 2008, by Jo Hubris of the Wellingtonista, totally stealing James Guthrie’s idea and transposing it to a new city, with a new set of writers.  The underlying mission of the site is to promote and write about the many interesting aspects of Auckland, from places to get drunk, things to go and see, events to participate in, bands to listen to, places to get drunk, plays to watch, comments on local news, restaurants to eat in, and, sometimes, places to get drunk.
