So I am in the windy city, right.
Having a cold one at the Backbencher, right.
(I may or may not have been having a conversation about art and the male gaze….)
Incoming text from a friend in A-town reads;
“My mate had 2 tattoo som1 2day wif Straight Outta Pamure on their neck. That’s pretty bad really.”
Leaving aside why my friend could get it together to add an apostrophe but otherwise was getting all text speak on my arse, I have got to say that is pretty bad.
Local pride at its finest?
What say ya’ll?
I’ve seen “Straight Outta Swanson” on a T-shirt before… funny because it rhymes. Straight Outta Panmure, the glamour kind of goes away.
Yeah well as my friend said, straight outta the caryards….
Yeah well as my friend said, straight outta the car yards….
“Straight outta Newton” maybe, Panmure neva!
Panmure? Or “Pamure”?
Panmure, named after Lord Panmure, a former Secretary of State for the Colonies (woteva that is).
I used to think it was spelt Pamure and should properly be pronounced Pah-moo-ray, but, no. It’s yet another ye olde English placename.
