First in a series of interesting videos to do with Auckland.

This is a 1981 music video from Christchurch post-punk/pop band the Androidss for their song “Auckland Tonight”. Is it a story of some young Cantabrians yearning for the big city up north? Or are they taking the piss? Or both?

Strangely enough, the style of the music video (the band mucking around, comedy name graphics for band members) is not all that different from the sort of thing an up-and-coming band of today would make.
